MOVE Mobility presents for a high-level delegation from Peru

MOVE Mobility presents to Peruvian delegation solutions for increasing liveability and accessibility within a short timeframe in cities that are struggling with car use.

Last week, at the office of the Dutch Cycling Embassy in Delft, Ruxandra gave a presentation and discussed with a high-level delegation from Peru. The delegation consisted of representatives – mayors and civil servants involved in urban planning and development – of several municipalities in the northern part of Lima Province: Santa Rosa, Comas, Ancón and Puente Piedra.

The topics discussed were related to integrated transport and mobility planning in general and the promotion of cycling, in particular. Further, the challenges that these municipalities are facing in terms of congestion, pollution and health have been analysed.

Ruxandra presented and discussed the importance of combining good infrastructure with efficient governance and a strong education programme in order to ensure the development of a sustainable, reliable and people-centred transport system. The analysis of the traffic in Bogotá performed with our MOVE Meter tool was shown as a good practice for cycling and transport planning.
